Barston Lake to hold Sensas/Midland Angler Final

Nigel Harrhy and Mark Downes at Barston LakeBarston Lakes' reputation as a growing match fishery has received a boost following the announcement by England team captain Mark Downes that he has chosen Solihull's Barston Lake as venue for the Sensas/Midland Angler 'Matchman of the Year' competition on July 14.

Developed by keen match angler Nigel Harrhy, Barston Lake was chosen because of the quality of the facilities. Each of the 36 eligible contestants have been names as 'Match Angler of the Month' by Midland Angler magazine over the past three years.

Representing some of the best match anglers around, they will be battling it out on the 21-acre Barston Lake for 1,000 worth of prizes donated by Sensas plus a decent amount of pools money.

The match will be particularly interesting because the unknown factor will be the 6,000lbs-plus of common and mirror carp to over 20lbs which were stocked in the lake at the back end of last year.
