Charlecombe Fishery

Charlecombe Pond near Newton Abbott has some manic carp to just under 20lbs plus plenty of silverfish. Some pegs are suitable for disabled anglers.

Charlecombe Pond near Newton Abbott has some manic carp plus plenty of silver fish. Although not large it contains a nice head of carp to about 20lbs. Depths vary from around six feet at its deepest to less than a foot in the margins. The margins and island margins are the best bet for the carp with big baits needed to select the better fish and stop small rudd from driving you mad. There is parking at one end of the pond but as there are no designated swims, just find a free spot and start fishing! The roadside pegs from the car park to the island are good for wheelchair users.
